Congratulations to the chiropractors and chiropractic students who attended the first Intro the Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic seminar this past weekend (September 17th) at the office in North Lakes.
Have You Heard About Upper Cervical Care?
Back in March this past year, I hosted the first "Intro to Upper Cervical event" with a couple of students attending. It was a general overview of the principles of why it is so important for the atlas and axis to be properly aligned. ...
And when there are only a dozen or so people in Australia actually practicing Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic care, we need more doctors to understand how and why this approach is so important and necessary. This event, which focuses specifically on the Blair Chiropractic method (that I use in the office here) had twice as many attendees as the event back in March, which is awesome(!). (To MS & FM: it would have been great to see you guys too, but thank you for letting me know you were both pre-commuted ... and it was still encouraging that you both have the interest in the first place.)
Chiropractic is Specific or it is Nothing
What did we get up to? For a start, we covered an abridged history of the early history of chiropractic and technique (which droned on longer than I expected, sorry). We next covered some pretty hardcore neurology, a research review, and biomechanics, which is excellent especially considering that our students were only in the 1st and 2nd years!
We then got into what makes Blair so unique in the way that we analyze the spine to see and know with certainty exactly what is going on and how we need to adjust. Followed up with just a little bit of technique and adjusting.
Midway through, we also had a couple of guests come in to share their experience with Upper Cervical Care (so thank you for TP & BP for allowing me to put you on the spot to help others). ...Overall, an obscene amount of stuff to cover in just 6 short hours! (To NH, LR & BM: I hope I didn't make your heads blow up too much ... because that was a LOT of information to absorb. If you got the essence of what I was trying to say, that is the most important and only thing you need ... "Get a Big Idea. All else follows.")

So what's next? This was only an introduction to Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic practice and principles. Later this year on November 5th & 6th, I will be hosting the first complete Level 1 (Basic) seminar ever held in Australia here in North Lakes, Brisbane.
We won't just be covering the theory, but actually showing you how to take and analyse the x-ray views that we do, and then go through step-by-step all the elements that go into adjusting.
