The topic for February 2018
The theme this month is on relationships.
Like last time, we'll start at 7:00 pm with Natalie and I providing a fruit, veggie & dip platter. We got some pretty good feedback last time (except lots of people had already eaten dinner ... don't do that this time. :-) * If you will be attending, please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements. *
For this event, we are going to pull a clip from YouTube/TEDTalk from John Gray, who the author of the relationship classic Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus. In this talk, he will be discussing how the exact same hormones act differently in men and women, and how this manifests as fundamental differences in behavior!

After the video, we'll break into the round-robin discussion on communication. Ain't that a loaded grenade. Here's the scoop. In advance of this month, I've done some extra research on a few differences between male & female brains, and how not understanding these fundamental differences of how we are wired may actually be one of the major sources of conflict.
Specifically, on the topic of communication strategies, we're going to ask the following:
- To women, it is not about the nail! To men, it is all about the nail! For the Women - Men can't focus on more than 1 thing at a time. It is actually a strength but often appears that he doesn't care because he can't remember what you said 5 minutes after you said it. What is one strategy that you have learned that has improved the quality of communication and fulfillment in your relationship with a man that actually works?
- For the Men - Women just don't make any sense. It is actually a strength but it often appears that they're out to control your life. What is one strategy that you have learned that has improved the quality of communication and fulfillment in your relationship with a woman that actually works?

The Passion Project is a forum for people who enjoy this stuff already - who read the books and watch the videos - but want to meet with other people to share their collective wisdom!
There is something intangible and special that happens when you meet with like-minded people. Inspiration from a book or movie is one thing. However, inspiration/motivation alone seldom produces an action that leads to change. This is not necessarily an "accountability group," but it is a community where like-minded people will be able to provide you the tools and resources to help you turn your inspired thoughts into constructive action.
I believe very much that the person you are today is because of the choices you made 1 year ago, and that is whether those choices were conscious, unconscious, or from ignorance. Conversely, the person you will be 1 year from now will exist because of the choices you make today.
Therefore, even single step in the right direction may lead you closer to the ultimate vision you have for your life.
Remember that the Passion Project is FREE, but that registration is a must for catering.
